Wat Pho, also known as Wat Phra Chetuphon or The Temple of the Reclining Buddha, is the largest abd oldest temple in Bangkok. Its official full name Its official full name is Wat Phra Chetuphon Vimolmangklararm Rajwaramahaviharn and houses the largest statue of reclining buddha at forty-six metres long and fifteen metres high, decorated with gold plating on his body and mother of pearl on his eyes and the soles of his feet.

so intricate..

check this out... a replica of angkor wat.. woohooo .. i am soooooo going this year!

Ok this cute fellow here with the animated face, is called the Hermit Doctor. The tourist guide said The Hermit Doctor was the royal doctor those days. I guess he has since retired huh..?

This is the first Buddist Temple i went to in Bangkok. Called the Wat Mahatat, its an appropriate name for the King who reigns in the hearts of Buddhists all over the world. Built in 1782, the first King of the Chakri Dynasty, King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) lived here. This is the Grand Palace that houses the famous Emerald Buddha

ok finally after much trial and error, i finally figured out how to do this! and what a splendid idea to start the ball rolling by posting pictures of one of my favourite man of all time.. super cool dude Gautama. These are pictures of my trip to Thailand in 2005 for Christmas and the Tsunami Remembrance Day in Bangkok. Enjoy!!
